PRELUDE, 1990 with 139,825 miles & tow bar ready! [26 Mar 2016|07:21pm]
PRELUDE, 1990 with 139,825 miles & tow bar ready!
Si 2.1L, 5 spd manual, large OEM sunroof. Gets 27-33 mpg. NO RUST or dents, like new interior (no smoking), one owner, never seen snow, always garaged (until I bought a Miata convertible 5 weeks ago), only hand washed. New timing belt, tires, stereo system, radiator, water pump & hoses. All heater hoses & fittings replaced in 2011 at 100k. Rear seat folds for 5x trunk space. This Honda classic handles like a sportscar, can be towed flat w/o modifications & yet has the space & reliability of a daily driver. Careful, consistent maintenance (& records to prove it) since birth. With oil changes every 3000 miles this classic has half it's life left! Eligible for Az. "Classic" & "Historic" plates--yet looks & runs like new! Currently only 4 or 5 Preludes with similar mileage for sale in the whole country, with prices ranging from $3500 to $6000 so I'm starting by splitting the difference @ $4750.
To see photos of this car inside & out, engine, tires, see ads at Carguru, AutoTrader or Craigslist (Phoenix, AZ)

Hey y'all [16 Sep 2009|06:42pm]

[ mood | accomplished ]

I just got a '91 prelude si in white a couple of days ago for my first car! It is amazing. I love driving it, even if it is just to the store and back (we live in a hilly area, and it is fun to drive it anywhere). I paid $1500.00 for it, and from what I hear, was a steal. I am actually coming up on an oil change for it, and can't wait to get under it to see what it looks like. I bet it's better than my mom's 2007 civic si, because it isn't all covered up by computer equipment like so many modern cars are... =)

Greetings [09 Feb 2008|09:56pm]

I have been the proud owner of a 97' jap import, nighthawk black, manual, SiR for about 36 hours now and I am loving it!!
The 2.2 Vtec is awesome, and I am just about used to how long that bonnet(hood) is...

n00b questions [12 Jul 2006|02:40pm]

Hiya! I just bought a '92 Prelude Si and I need to change the oil. The problem is I don't have the manual so I don't know what oil it needs or what kind of filter. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I need to replace the relay for the starter. Does anyone know where under the dash that is?

Thank you thank you!

My 4th Gen. Prelude [15 Jun 2006|08:55pm]

My Prelude Still need to put rims and new tires on it but so far I have put on a megan racing catback, generic short ram intake, brembo crossdrill/slotted rotors, megan racing strut tower bar, tein springs on tokico strut and switched all the markers out to clear. I still plab on getting jdm 1pc headlights a megan header and the aem tru-power pulley kit. I also redid my tail lights as you can see in the pic. Let me know what you think.

Heh, didn't even know this community existed...

Anyway, I own a 1991 "Phoenix Red" 3rd generation Honda Prelude 2.0SI, 5-speed manual transmission, 103K miles. It is by far my favorite car I've owned.

Intro [19 Jan 2006|04:16am]

hey whats up everybody i just bought a 4th gen prelude si, actually i dont even have it yet I pick it up saturday but i'm excited about it and all the wonderful things I can do to it. I'm trying my best to not to go crazy on ebay and end up ricing it. Just a few questions for some of you have have done mods. Do you know how much a catback and short ram intake affects your MPG? Also does anyone have any tips or suggestions for maintianing the engine? Favorite types of oil, spark plugs and wires that sort of thing.

98 prelude 4ws si [14 Jan 2006|02:57pm]

[ mood | thoughtful ]

Hey there everyone
I thought I would say a little hello just as raqalicious has just done.
I recently bought a 3rd gen prelude for my partner as a Christmas present. I was a little shocked when she told me she wanted that car in particular because I said she could buy something much newer. I was then told in a very serious tone that the 3rd gen prelude was her favourite car. I didn't know why this was until I drove the beast. Wow. I didn't think a car of that age could drive like that!!!
Anyway, I do have a question that people might be able to answer. Although the interior and the mechanics of the car is just wonderful, I have noticed that the black trim on the exterior is starting to wear and revealing a metallic surface underneath it. I have seen this problem with almost all the (3rd gen) preludes I have managed to have a look at. I was wondering what people have done to 'fix' this. Does it need to be taken back and perhaps painted (as I have once seen)? Or is there something else that can be done?

Have fun

Hi everyone! I just now thought to search for a Prelude club here on LJ and here we are! Just thought I'd introduce me and my girl real quick!

Hiya. My name is Raquel, I'm 26, and I'm a Prelude addict! :-P

I have a '92 lude - with the original h23a1 engine in it. No mods yet! Unfortunetly she's currently at the shop since I kind of threw a rod right before Christmas :( Waiting on the machine shop to finish with my block so we can fix her back up. I've been driving my sisters 99 Corolla and suffering!!! I can't wait to get my girl back! I've had it for 3 years now and it is my all time favorite car. I almost cried when it broke down and I found out what happened. I don't ever want another car!

I look forward to reading about all of your ludes too!

[ mood | my poor prelude ]

i hit a deer :( my car is pretty fucked up. if anyone knows of where i could get a cheaper rh headlight let me know. apparently they don't make aftermarket headlights for 97up. if i can't find a good price for a used one i'm just gonna suck it up and go jdm. parts i have to replace: left and right fenders, hood, windshield, rh headlight, front bumper, and get it all repainted :( how depressing. i guess in the long run its good because this forces me to fix up my car. the insurance company estimated the damage at $3,000. it seemed kinda low to me. ebay is my best friend right now.....

Preludes Rock [24 Aug 2005|10:26am]
[ mood | happy ]

Hey...I own a 98 Prelude 5 speed. My parents actually bought it for me when I was 14 without knowing what it was. My brother was the only one who knew anything about them, and he told them to buy it for my first car. So yes, my first car was a Prelude...I love my brother, what can I say? I had to prove that I could handle it though after my parents figured out it has balls.

I love my car, at least once a week I get asked if I am selling it. I have always driven cars with power, for a while I drove a Corvette when my Prelude was parked, but the Vette didn't even compare. Preludes are so high-strung that they are just a blast to drive. I have let one other person drive my car, and he flipped, he LOVED it...lets just say I have one up on him and he knows it!

God sure blessed the Earth when he put the Prelude on it!

So tomorrow my friend and I are going to change the clutch on my Prelude...

Problem is that it's front drive and it's going to be a BITCH just getting to the clutch to replace it. We plan on spending most of the day (or weekend) on this.

But on the other hand the new piece is an Exedy heavy duty pressure plate and a full face organic street disc. So much fun will be had after the 500-750 mile break in...

If anyone has any experience with changing a clutch in a Honda, and if you have any pointers or tips, PLEASE let me know. I really don't wanna screw up and forget something...
